A true individual cannot be told how to behave or what to like, therefor my entries are not meant for instructional purposes. I felt it was necessary to explain that my intention is to solely inspire those to embrace their personal qualities, not to be ashamed of them. I hope to do so by sharing everyday happenings I feel relate to expressing individuality. Seeing someone else succeed in being themselves, I hope, can make it easier for others to do the same.
Being different is not a reason to feel like less of a person, but should make you feel even more alive. I face people everyday who put me down because the way I dress, the music I listen to, and the way I act. I have become and expert at ignoring these silly little remarks, and even laughing along. So what? I do and like these things because they make me happy.

Yes, I have titled my first blog post according to the Say Anything song titled, you guessed it, “Admit It!” No, I am not saying these lyrics are filled with a very bright and inspirational message, but I do believe this song delivers a very good point to the listener. Average teen age stereotypes are easy to buy into, ones that are expressed through the very unlikeable character described in these lyrics. However, WE are the only ones to blame for these horrid accusations. Admit it- we are nothing but gossiping trouble makers who only care about ourselves. Admit it- we find rebellion adds to the thrill of having a resentful attitude towards our parents. Admit it- we do not have to be this way. Express who you truly are and you will have a much happier outlook on the world around you. Do what makes you happy and don’t be afraid to be different. Take risks and if you have to get in a little bit of trouble along the way, then so be it. Just keep your future in mind at all times and don’t do anything too stupid. BE YOURSELF… I know you are probably used to hearing it all the time, but I believe my very own quirks are what people tend to love about me. I would be glad to show you my constant pride in having weird and unique qualities, which is the main reason I am writing this blog. I hope to inspire everyone who reads it to open up and show their inner-freak! Remember, individuality is key!
